Brigantine Beach Historical Museum


The Brigantine Beach Historical Society was formed to preserve the Island’s past. Through their efforts and the efforts of Brigantine’s town historian, Howard “Fritz” Haneman, the Brigantine Historical Museum opened in 1992 and is located adjacent to the Marine Mammal Stranding Center. Exhibits include a large collection of photographs from the 19th and early 20th.

Brigantine is a Bike Friendly Town


Brigantine Beach  offers a perfect fit for every type of cyclist. Whether you’re an avid mountain bicyclist, a road bike warrior, or a breezy beach cruiser, there are plenty of paths on the island.  Biking is an integral part of the Brigantine Beach Community Brigantine is a Bike Friendly Town.

How awesome is it that you can  drive your vehicle on Brigantine beaches with a permit (see links  for info). So load up the family and park your 4 wheel vehicle on  the beach for the day. So grab the beach chairs, bucket and shovel and take the whole family to the beach  for some great fun.

4 Wheel Drive Permits for the 2013 Season will go on sale December 1st at the Brigantine Beach Community Center located on 42nd Street.

Shopping

No matter what your shopping needs, Brigantine Beach stores and shops can provide for nearly anything vacationers might want: Whether it’s a manicure and new hairdo, late-night grocery shopping, furnishings for home and business, or baubles and trinkets to decorate your significant other, Brigantine Beach  stores are just steps away and often open late for your convenience.

Water Sports

The miles of beach on the Atlantic Ocean to the Back Bays  offer  plenty of public access points  to enjoy the back- bays, oceans and inlets that make up this beautiful coastal island  community of Brigantine Beach. Beach Patrol The Beach Patrol sponsors swimming and rowing competitions and swimming clinics for youth. Beach Chairs are available for the disabled. Please call Headquarters to reserve : (609) 266-5233.

Swimming Swimming is permitted at the following beaches from June 15th to Labor Day during the hours of 10:00 am – 5:30 pm, while the lifeguards are on duty.

Surfers (or aspiring surfers) may also contact the Brigantine Beach Waveriders at (609) 266-SURF for information about surfing tournaments and clinics for youth.

Kite Flying Permitted on 34th Street South to 38th Street South.

Dogs on the Beach From October 1st to May 29th, dogs are allowed on the beach provided they are on a leash, not longer than 6 ft. Dog feces must be removed. Dogs are allowed on the North-End Beach any time – same rules apply.

Dunes, Fences & Beach Grass The interference with, alteration, removal or destruction of sand dunes, vegetation, snow fences, or protective barriers along the beach is prohibited..
